BBC Hindi Service needs Producer

Job Introduction: Our output aims to make international news relevant to an Indian audience, and bring international perspectives to bear on Indian and global developments. We report in a lively and engaging fashion, and interactivity forms a large part of our content across all platforms.
Role Responsibility
Working in a team of BBC Journalists, you’ll report to the Service Editor or Desk Editors. You’ll originate, prepare, produce and present entertainment news bulletins in Hindi for the BBC’s FM output or news for other output.  To be confident on air and to possess a good broadcast voice and manner.  To be able to make radio packages, conduct interviews and discussions and produce complete programmes, as well as providing background analysis and feature material for radio, the internet and other media forms.  To be able to produce long form, magazine style radio programmes for FM as well.  In addition, to occasionally broadcast in English for the South Asia Region for its various outlets.
You’ll also generate ideas and adapt them to fit with the needs of our various platforms, be it SW, FM or internet streams.  To ensure that any programme material for which you will be responsible for meets the standards required by the BBC. To work as Duty Editor for specific broadcasts or periods of time, as may be required.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience as a producer, presenter or journalist with a good understanding and experience of the FM scenario in India and the skill/flair required to work for FM medium.  With a full command and up to date knowledge of Hindi as first (or equivalent) language, you’ll also have a complete comprehension of written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively. Alongside your ability to write, adapt and translate with accuracy, clarity and a style appropriate to differing audiences and forms of media, suitable for broadcasting or online content.
You’ll have good knowledge or entertainment, sports, features, arts and business topics in India as well as an in-depth knowledge of the audience requirements.
